Corriere dello Sport have added further weight to the rumours linking Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa with a move to Premier League side West Ham United.

The striker’s spell with Santos has not gone unnoticed and the Hammers, as per the report, are leading the race to sign him in the upcoming January transfer window.

They are not alone in courting the 22-year-old however but have taken the most concrete steps toward signing him with contact with Inter already well underway and happening on a frequent basis.

Inter are hopeful of moving the Brazilian on on a permanent basis and are looking to collect €20 million from his sale.

Gabigol, who joined Inter in a €30 million deal from Santos in 2016, has spent the past year on loan with his former club and scored 18 goals in 35 league games for the Peixe which earned him the title of top scorer in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.
