It is no secret that Inter are hopeful of adding a big name player in the summer once freed from their settlement agreement with UEFA and Corriere dello Sport report that that player could in fact be Toni Kroos.
The German has a €300 million release clause in his contract but is no longer so sure about staying in the Spanish capital.
As learnt by Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from the club, if the player wishes to leave and president Florentino Perez gives an ‘ok’ to it, the release clause in players contracts become nullified.
At present Kroos is well out of Inter’s reach with Inter only really able to rely on loans with redemption options or obligations but in a few months time it could be a different story.
In fact, the report goes on to suggest that Mauro Icardi could even go the opposite way with Los Blancos on the lookout for a top striker capable of replacing the barrel load of goals they lost when Ronaldo left for Juventus in the summer. If he is to not sign a new deal, the chances of a switch to the Bernabeu are heightened due to the fact Real are very rich and would have no problems in paying his current release clause of €110 million.
