Inter have declared an interest in Genoa’s Cristian Romero but have ground to make up on Juventus who seemingly lead the way for his signature according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Genoa and Juventus are already in talks over the Argentine centre back as well as Stefano Sturaro. While Genoa director Giorgio Perinetti has already confirmed that they are to be separate deals, each will undoubtedly help the other nevertheless.

With Juventus wanting Romero they will not want to make things difficult for Genoa in their bid to sign Sturaro and vice versa.

Should an agreement between Juventus and Genoa be hard to come by, Inter could use the opportunity to try and slide into negotiations and snatch the 20-year-old right from underneath their rivals noses.

Romero joined Genoa in the Summer for a sum of just €1.7 million and has massively impressed in his 11 appearances to date for the Grifone, all of which have come in Serie A.
