After Mauro Icardi blasted the Gazzetta dello Sport on social media yesterday, the Gazzetta’s Andrea Di Caro wrote his official response to the events that led to Mauro making such statements.
“The Gazzetta did not invent the fact that the club is annoyed. This annoyance is as real as the annoyance that Inter experienced due to Icardi’s delay from his holidays, which led to him receiving a fine of €100,000. Meanwhile Wanda is back to talking about things such as ‘the renewal is far away’ and ‘other teams are interested in Mauro.’ These statements resulted in temperatures rising within the club; so much so that in the next meeting regarding the renewal, it would be better if Wanda left the limelight while managing this deal.”
The author of the piece then went on to defend what was written and explain the duties of being a captain.
“This was just an opportunity to explain how Inter wants to set the future with its most important player. That article was then labeled as “crap” on Mauro Icardi’s Instagram, who then went on to point out that Wanda will always take care of his interests and explained to the fans that he has not yet received a specific offer.”
“We have nothing to say about the last two points, but regarding the first one: perhaps the real problem is not what Icardi thinks of our article, but that Icardi has not understood what Inter thinks and what they want from him. Zhang said a few words yesterday in order to try to defuse the situation and show confidence in reaching an agreement.”
