Corriere dello Sport believe Inter suffered defensively yesterday due to the attack relentlessly chasing more and more goals as they beat Benevento 6-2 in the Coppa Italia.

Inter conceded two goals but it certainly could have been more given Benevento had a total of 20 shots at Inter’s goal. Only Barcelona have had more shots at Inter’s goal this season as they shot 26 times during one of the recent Champions League encounters between the two sides.

Inter swiftly went in to a 2-0 lead and the attack continued to push for more while not keeping up with the defensive side of things.

Antonio Candreva, who scored a brace during the game at San Siro, was one of the main offenders in this respect. He almost always got the better of his man down the wing but left Sime Vrsaljko alone on the right side of the pitch in the defensive phase of the game.
