Shuai Wang, the vice president of Alibaba’s communications, has denied any and all knowledge about the possibility of Alibaba founder and owner Jack Ma investing in Inter through a fund.

“I have never heard of this story,” Wang posted to his Weibo – one of the biggest Chinese social media websites – profile earlier on today.

Reports concerning Ma’s possible investment first surfaced in Italy this morning and it is unclear if Wang’s comments are simply a strategic denial while all the final details are being ironed out.

The circulating media reports state that Ma, through a Hong Kong based fund called Yungfeng Capital, will purchase former Inter president Erick Thohir’s 31.05% stake in the Nerazzurri for a sum of around €150 million.

Ma was recently named the richest man in China with an estimated worth of no less than $34.6 billion and Inter would greatly benefit from his investment should the reports come to fruition.
