Keita Balde has picked up a muscle injury in training and would appear set to miss Inter’s game with Sassuolo this weekend as a result.

“Inter forward Keita Balde underwent a magnetic resonance this morning at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas of Rozzano following some muscle discomfort in training,” a statement posted to the official club website reads.

“The exams showed a muscular distraction to the biceps femoris of the right thigh.”

In terms of when he will return, Inter were particularly vague in the statement.

“His situation will be re-evaluated next week.”

The Senegalese winger has recently come on to a game after a difficult start to life at the club following his arrival in the Summer from Monaco in a loan with redemption option deal.

The 23-year-old has made 21 appearances across all competitions for Inter in which he has scored four goals and tallied three assists in 767 minutes of action.
