In the past week Sampdoria have shown an interest in signing Inter youngster Davide Merola according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Officials from La Samp spoke with Merola’s agent Enzo Raiola with regards to a move. Sampdoria wish to sign the Inter Primavera striker immediately and they would then keep him in their Primavera side for the remainder of the season before giving him a chance in the first team next season.

Relations between Inter and Sampdoria are excellent and Inter would, as per the report, be willing to sanction a transfer so long as there was a buy back option as part of any deal.

The 18-year-old, who has been regarded as the ‘new’ Vincenzo Montella by some, has made a total of 16 appearances for Inter’s Primavera this season across all competitions in which he has scored seven goals and tallied three assists in just 478 minutes of action.
