Aldo Serena was asked by RMC Sport for his opinion on the current situation with regards to Mauro Icardi’s contract renewal at Inter.
“He is a fantastic player, especially in the penalty box and I think his contract definitely needs to be adjusted to match what he gives to the team,” the former Nerazzurri striker said.
“However, Inter have invested so much in Icardi already that I think he needs to show a little bit of gratitude during these negotiations, while Inter have to stop being so cheap and make an effort to find agreement from his demands.”
Serena then went on to discuss what he thought of Lautaro Martinez, who arrived at the club in the Summer from Racing Club.
“Lautaro? I like him a lot. He too is good in the penalty box but also works a lot and helps the team outside of it more than Icardi does.”
