Gazzetta dello Sport have charted the development of Steven Zhang since he became Inter’s youngest president in history back in October.

The 27-year-old, who is currently in China for Suning’s annual shareholders meeting, immediately made his mark upon being appointed in place of Erick Thohir.

In his 82 days at the club’s helm, he has certainly did a lot and been strong in doing so.

One of the first things he got to doing was courting – and then later landing – Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta after he departed Juventus having played a huge role in their recent successes.

Zhang then had to deal with the disappointment of Inter being knocked out of the Champions League. In what was a bitter moment for his father Jindong, Zhang jr. got right to motivating the players and coaching staff and urged them to do their best in the Europa League.

The Milan based newspaper believe that – what they describe as – his ‘metamorphosis’ was fully complete at Inter’s Christmas dinner party where he addressed those in attendance.

“We will crush everyone on and off the pitch: the goal must be to talk about titles and aim for victory,” he said.

Now Zhang must way to see the outcome of contract renewal talks with Mauro Icardi, something he has requested aren’t dragged out any longer and oversee a new shareholder entering the club with negotiations ongoing between the aforementioned Thohir and a Hong Kong private investment fund.
