Inter’s stadium closure has affected thousands upon thousands of fans and Gazzetta dello Sport have told the story of one of those affected.

Due to racial abuse directed toward Kalidou Koulibaly during Inter’s recent win over Napoli, Inter were ordered to play their next two home games behind closed doors with the game thereafter being partially closed.

Max Donaghey from Houston, a small village 17 miles from Glasgow in Scotland, was surprised by his father with a weekend trip to Milan where he would attend Inter-Sassuolo as part of it but due to the closure it now looks unlikely that the 12-year-old will get to attend San Siro on Saturday.

“He was so happy when I told him we would be going to Italy and that we would finally see a match at the Meazza, in the stadium where Mourinho’s team made history,” his father, Ross, confessed.

“I told him about what happened and I tried to explain that unfortunately it will no longer be possible to go to the stadium to see the game. He burst into tears and still can’t understand it.

“I hope something can happen though. I have written an email to the club and been in contact with some Inter Club’s to find out more about the entrance of children.

He concluded by revealing that a fellow fan has reached out and offered an alternative if they can’t get in to San Siro.

“One fan has even invited me and the family to his house to watch the game if I can not succeed in my mission.”
