Young goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao rejected the opportunity to join Premier League side Arsenal in favour of joining Inter instead, this according to a report from Tuttosport.

Due to non-EU player registration rules in Italy, Brazao will first join Chievo Verona and spend the remainder of the season there before joining Inter in the Summer.

It could well be the case that he rocks up to the Angelo Moratti Sports Centre with a Portuguese passport with the process for him to get one already underway. Him having a European passport would mean Inter would not have to use up on of their two non-EU player slots when it came to registering him.

The total outlay of the deal, according to the Turin newspaper, will be €3 million and has been helped along by sporting director Piero Ausilio’s right-hand man Dario Baccin.

As a thank you for helping them, Inter will also send youngster Felice D’Amico to the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi side.
