The lawyers of one of Inter’s imprisoned ultras have once again requested his release from prison according to a report from Tuttosport.

34-year-old Marco Piovella has been imprisoned since December 31 as a result of the ugly scenes prior to Inter versus Napoli on boxing day that saw ultras from both sides clash near to the stadium.

Inter ultra Daniele Belardinelli was killed during the fighting having been run over by Napoli fans while some Napoli fans were also stabbed.

Piovella has been held with it presumed he was one of the main instigators of the violence. His lawyers however maintain that he did not play as big a role as presumed and have stressed that he was not dishing out orders.

Piovella, like fellow Inter ultra Luca Da Ros, has been willing to co-operate with the investigation and recently sat down with the investigating judge for nearly two and a half hours.
