Gazzetta dello Sport have provided details of the interrogation of leading Inter ultra Nino Ciccarelli in connection with the violence that occurred prior to Inter versus Napoli on boxing day.

Ultra groups from both sides clashed not too far from San Siro and there were several injuries and one casualty in Daniele ‘Dede’ Belardinelli, another leading Inter ultra.

Investigations in to finding out the exact details are ongoing and multiple participants are being held or have been held in custody for questioning.

Having initially denied any involvement whatsoever, Ciccarelli yesterday confirmed he was involved but denied playing any part in the organisation of it all as he was subjected to an hour-long interrogation at the hands of leading investigatory judge Guido Salvini.

Ciccarelli claimed to only end up in the midst of the violence by chance and revealed how he picked up his injuries. He was also asked for any information he had about Belardinelli’s death but was unable to provide investigators with any information on how Belardinelli died other than admitting hearing a man screaming and on the ground.

Gazzetta’s report also details that meanwhile in Naples there are four cars being checked in connection with Belardinelli – who died in hospital due to his injuries’ – death. The investigators believe that two cars were involved, the first of which knocked him over before the second crushed him.
