Inter and Napoli have entered the race to sign Atlanta United attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron according to a report from British newspaper the Northern Echo.

Paraguayan international Almiron has been one of the best players in MLS since arriving at the club and was part of the Atlanta side who stormed to the MLS Cup in just their second season in existence.

Inter and Napoli have both held talks with the 24-year-old’s representatives in the past week over a possible move to Serie A ahead of Thursday night’s deadline due to the ongoing difficult in negotiations with Premier League side Newcastle United.

As per the report, their is a 5 million gap between the Toon Army’s offer and Atlanta’s asking price for Almiron, who scored an impressive 13 goals and tallied just as many assists in 38 games across all competitions last season for The Five Stripes, where he has spent the past two years of his career.
