Agent Giovanni Bia has admitted that he would not be surprised if media speculation that Inter are interested in his client Gian Marco Ferrari was in fact true.

“I read in this morning’s newspapers of Inter’s alleged interest in him. No one has spoken to us for now and I do not know if there will be contact between the two clubs, but at the moment there is nothing,” Bia said in an interview with CalcioMercato.it.

“Ferrari is doing important things at Sassuolo and possible interest from a great team like Inter would not surprise me.”

The 26-year-old central defender has impressed this season making 19 appearances across all competitions for the Neroverdi for a total of 1710 minutes on the pitch.

Ferrari, who has had loan spells at both Crotone and Sampdoria in recent seasons, is currently under contract with the MAPEI Stadium outfit for a few years yet with his contract due to expire at the end of the 2020/21 season.
