Parma sporting director Daniele Faggiano has flat-out refused the possibility that Bruno Alves will leave the club before tomorrow night’s transfer deadline.

“Juventus and Inter are both interested for Bruno Alves? He will not move, he is our captain, there is no way he can leave Parma,” Faggiano assured in an interview with CalcioMercato.it.

The 37-year-old centre back returned to Italy in the Summer after a year in Scotland with Rangers and has showed no signs of slowing down as evidenced by the fact he has made 20 appearances across all competitions this season.

Juventus were linked with the Portuguese veteran due to the exit of Mehdi Benatia however the signing of Martin Caceres would appear to suggest Juventus are no longer interested in signing him.

As for Inter, it can only be presumed that Alves has been identified as a replacement for Miranda should the Brazilian leave before the deadline but given Faggiano’s comments, they will need to look elsewhere if Miranda does leave.
