Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport points out in today’s paper, that Nerazzurri captain Mauro Icardi has not scored for a while and tonight he will have an opportunity to redeem this.
“The last goal that he scored in open play dates back three months ago, to the match at the Olimpico against Lazio. Icardi is desperately looking to reverse this trend and the cup competitions have served the Inter captain well so far this season.”
“In the Champions League he exalted himself and climbed a step further in his career, finding the back of the net on four occasions out of the six matches. It is perhaps a strange situation, as if Icardi and Inter had all decided to devote body and soul to the midweek matches.”

The figures are well known, Inter have offered a €7 million plus bonus deal, then there will be a negotiation on the release clause. They will move forward together, because there is no need for tensions in a season finale where there are two cups and a league still to play for.
