In-form Duvan Zapata has affirmed his commitment to Atalanta by stating that he is thinking only about the club despite alleged interest from several big European clubs including Inter.
“Earlier nobody wanted me and now everyone wants to sign me but at this moment I think only about Atalanta. I hope to experience further satisfaction with this club during the season. Can we finish in fourth place in Serie A? Let’s see what happens. Every game for us is both important and difficult and we will see where we are in the end,” he said in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports.
He then heaped praise on manager Gian Piero Gasperini for helping him.
“At first I struggled to adapt, but this environment transmits tranquillity and I knew that all of this would come. We show in every game that we can beat any team. In the beginning we struggled to find the results. The way Gasperini works has improved my skills even more. The coach is fundamental.”
The Colombian striker has banged in no less than 20 goals in in 29 appearances across all competitions and is currently on a 10 game scoring streak wherein he has scored 17 of his 20 goals for the season.
