After a surprising and heavy defeat against Bologna at home at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia spoke to FcInterNews to share his thoughts on the match.

Spalletti says that the group is not up for the challenge, what do you have to say about that?

“Surely there is a psychological aspect that influences the players, but players at this kind of level. Right now we have to evaluate our goals and go for the Champions League spot. We cannot create mental problems or alibis right now, instead we have to focus on bringing home the three points. Time is running out, the teams in front of us are getting ahead and the teams behind us are gaining ground.”

Do you have to start questioning yourselves knowing that Parma is the next team to face?

“No, we just have to start playing our kind of championship. We are still in front, but far away from Napoli. The championship is very long and we change the momentum within a couple of games, we just have to change our approach during the match. A goo thing is that we have a week to adjust what is wrong.”

Besides the mental aspect, what is missing from this team?

“From my point of view it is only a mental matter. This is a thing that can strengthen us because the mental part is something that you can change, it is all up to the players to change in order to get this straighten up this boat. Focus on this being a team sport, no individual can change this it is all about the team.”

Is it more difficult to play at home during times like this?

“I know for sure, it depends omg the individual. We have a lot of players of both personality and strength, also used to play under this kind of pressure. Almost everyone of them play in their respective national teams. It is not easy, but all we can do is to work on ourselves. We are only persons.”
