The Europa League Is An Important Goal For Inter

Despite the chaos and poor form, the Europa League remains a key objective for the Nerazzurri, especially after their elimination from the Coppa Italia, this according to a report from Tuttosport.

The Nerazzurri has not achieved any considerable satisfaction in this competition beyond the alps for four years. The last bit of joy came in 2015 when Mancini’s Inter eliminated Celtic from the Europa League in the round of 16, only to be eliminated in the next round by Wolfsburg. Then they had to wait until 2016-17 for another chance but this time they didn’t even get out of the group under the management of De Boer, in what was considered an easy group, consisting of Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Southampton and Sparta Prague. The results were disastrous, totalling 4 defeats and only 2 wins.

The following season marked the Nerazzurri return to the Champions League for the first time since 2012 but the disappointment continued despite the dream start with six points in 2 games and PSV at San Siro being the final fixture. Now the Nerazzurri are back in the Europa League and considered to be serious contenders, but most people do not of the mental fragility of this team and perhaps over estimate them. However, one thing is for sure, on paper this team is very strong. Now Spalletti must steady the ship and make the most of what he has, if he wants to keep his job.
