Milan based sports paper La Gazzetta dello Sport today reported that former Inter captain Mauro Icardi has refused to play again for the club unless he in reinstated as captain.

The Argentine striker was stripped of the captaincy at Inter last week and replaced by Samir Handanovic but this latest report has been denied by Icardi’s wife and agent, Wanda Nara.

In a tweet posted earlier today on her personal Twitter profile she said: “Shameful!!!! Gazzetta is an official partner of Inter, to continue to say this bulls**t is even more dangerous. The truth is only one!!”

The former showgirl has come under a lot of criticism of late and has been blamed by some for Icardi losing the captaincy for being outspoken and critical towards the team in her slot on the Sport Mediaset weekly magazine TV show, TikiTaka.

Speaking on the show at the weekend she broke down in tears when talking about the events that have taken place over the last few days.
