Despite both having difficult situations at Inter, Corriere dello Sport insist that a complete comparison cannot be drawn between current Inter player Mauro Icardi and former Inter player Mario Balotelli on a number of levels.
The players technical ability cannot be compared nor can their personality or their behaviour. The only comparison that can be made between the two is that they have both faced a time away from the rest of their teammates and a difficult relationship with the club and that the team have become more united in their respective absences.
It happened for Balotelli in the year Inter won the Triplete, in what would be his final season in Nerazzurri, while Icardi is currently experiencing it at the club.
In Balotelli’s case, he had a difficult relationship with Jose Mourinho and continuous fall-outs while Icardi lost the captain’s armband and has certainly not been helped by the recent comments of his wife/agent Wanda Icardi in the media that have contributed to damaging Icardi and teammates relations.
