Samir Handanovic shared his disappointment with Inter’s 3-3 draw away to Fiorentina which ended in great controversy as referee Rosario Abisso awarded the home side a questionable penalty even after consulting VAR.

Television and VAR replays showed the ball hit off Danilo D’Ambrosio’s chest although Abisso was not entirely convinced it only hit the Inter defender’s chest and subsequently awarded a penalty deep in to the seven minutes of injury time at the end of the game.

“It was all too obvious that it was not a penalty,” Handanovic remarked in an interview with Inter TV.

“There was also a foul before the penalty, I do not know how the referee made his decision but it is two points lost for us and we can not do anything about it.”

The Slovenian ‘keeper then spoke on what was said to referee Rosario Abisso after the match.

“We told him that it was not a penalty and Fiorentina’s Biraghi backed that up. We talked about a lot of things with him.”

He concluded the interview by insisting that he and his teammates just need to move on with some tricky games approaching.

“The game is done now and we must not think about it even if it will be hard.

“We now have games with Cagliari and Eintracht Frankfurt coming up.

“We need to think about one game at a time and there is so much to play for still.”
