Andrea Vannucci, the councillor for sport in the city of Florence, has spoken out against the sickening messages that have appeared on social media mocking the death of Davide Astori that have seemingly come from Inter fans following the 3-3 draw last night.
Inter looked set to pick up a 3-2 win away to La Viola last night but referee Rosario Abisso awarded the home side a controversial penalty deep in to the seven minutes of injury time, something that angered Inter supporters, evidently some way way more than others.
“What an indecent disgrace,” Vannucci posted to his Twitter account.
“Someone who attacks David’s legacy offends all of us.”
He continued: “Here, the fans have nothing to do with it. We are another thing, we are Viola.”
Posts also appeared wishing death on current Fiorentina and former Inter manager Stefano Pioli as well as several other Fiorentina players.
Che indecente vergogna. Chi offende la memoria di Davide offende tutti noi. Qui il tifo non c’entra. Noi siamo un’altra cosa, noi siamo Viola #rispetto #FioInt
