Fiorentina striker Luis Muriel has called for people to put the controversy from Sunday night’s thrilling 3-3 draw between La Viola and Inter aside.

Inter were headed for a 3-2 victory in Florence and were just seconds away from recording their fourth straight victory in all competitions but in the dying embers Fiorentina ace Federico Chiesa attempted to cross the ball in and it hit off Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio.

Referee Rogerio Abisso judged it hit D’Ambrosio’s arm but was advised to take a second look on VAR with the ball appearing to only hit D’Ambrosio’s chest.

Abisso was left unconvinced after consulting VAR and upheld his original decision which allowed Jordan Veretout to tie the hosting side level.

“Let’s keep smiling and put the controversy aside. It was a great game but now we must reset and begin to think about Wednesday.

He added: “This team and these fans never give up.”
