While a number of players have voiced their desire to see Mauro Icardi make a return to action in recent interviews, Tuttosport state that Croatian duo Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic have been celebrating the Argentine’s absence from the team.
As per the Turin based newspaper’s report, the pair both liked a post on Instagram yesterday discussing the possibility of Edin Dzeko coming in and replacing the 26-year-old, who was recently stripped of the Inter captaincy and has sat out of Inter’s past four games due to a knee injury.
Further evidence of Perisic’s dislike for Icardi came in last night’s 3-3 draw away to Fiorentina. Matteo Politano scored Inter’s second goal and celebrated how he typically would by cupping his ears, similarly to how Icardi celebrates. Perisic was quick to run over and pull Politano’s arms away from his ears though and gave him a talking to afterwards, presumably seeing it as a sign of support for Icardi.
