The Argentine football associations (AFA) wish to avoid any conflict with Inter and for this reason they will not call-up Mauro Icardi for the upcoming friendlies, this according to a report from Olé.
Argentine are due to play Venezuela and Morocco at the end of next month to warm-up for this Summer’s Copa America – something Icardi looks set to miss at the moment.
AFA bosses want to avoid putting any unnecessary tension on the diplomatic relations they have with Inter which could be brought into great dispute if Icardi was to be called due to the 26-year-old’s situation at the club.
For a multitude of reasons, the front man was stripped of the Inter captaincy in recent weeks and has not made any of the past four squads – let alone play a single minute on the park.
It is an extremely delicate situation between the club and the player with it ultimately being anybody’s guess as to what will happen next.
