FIFA president Gianni Infantino has shared his desire to see Inter and Mauro Icardi find a resolution to the recent problems.

Icardi was recently stripped of the Inter captaincy and is currently rebelling by sitting out of action claiming to have a knee injury which Inter’s medical scans showed was non-existent.

“I would always want Icardi in the team and I hope that there can be a deal between Inter and Icardi to make both of them happy,” Infantino, who is a known Inter fan, told Gazzetta dello Sport.

One of the roots of the problems between Inter and Icardi has been his wife/agent Wanda Icardi and Infantino has stressed that agents must become regulated.

“UEFA and FIFA are working together on a very important issue, which also has ethical implications, and a business that every year moves €8bn. The profession of agents must be regulated.

“People talk so much about the USA being the country of deregulation, but they have very strict laws there and even the threat of prison. That is not the case in Europe. It is time to intervene.”
