Mauro Icardi continued to receive physiotherapy on his knee in training today according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.

The Argentine striker has now spent the past three weeks receiving treatment on his knee that has caused him to miss Inter’s past five games – which is likely to become six with him not expected to be part of the squad that travels to Frankfurt for the Europa League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The report also goes on to bring an update on Keita Balde’s situation.

Keita Balde has been sidelined for a considerable time with a thigh injury that he picked up in training although he participated in a large part of training with the rest of the group today and is nearing a call-up for the Eintracht Frankfurt match.

The Senegalese international’s seemingly imminent return will come as a boost to Inter manager Luciano Spalletti who has had to deal with just one capable striker in Lautaro Martinez. While he is traditionally a winger, Keita is more than capable of also playing up top.
