Inter legend Riccardo Ferri has insisted that as hard as it may be to leave San Siro, the Milanese clubs Inter and Milan need to build a new stadium as the revenue it will bring will enable them to return to the former heights they found themselves at.

Recent reports have stated that Milan have made their mind-up that they wish to build a new stadium and Inter are seemingly going to follow suit.

“It will be a real blow to the heart for those who played there including me and for all the fans who have attended, but the two Milanese clubs need a new stadium that will guarantee more income that can then be reinvested,” he said in an interview with Sport Mediaset.

He concluded: “The reinvested revenue can help the Milanese clubs return to the top and achieve big things, something they have not managed to do in recent years.”
