Former Milan defender Christian Panuccci to Radio Anchio Sport about this weekends upcoming Derby between Milan and Inter.
During his career Panucci played for both Milan and Inter as well as Roma. He went on to say that these three teams look the most likely to battle for Champions League places this season “Inter, Milan and Roma are all close together, they face eleven finals ahead of them. Roma need to regroup after their Champions League fight, Milan are doing really well at the moment and Inter have their problems. Who will make it out of these three I can’t say for certain but they are all sides that are capable of finishing in the top four.”
Panucci is currently manger of the Albanian national team and went on to talk about the Derby: “the derby is a game on its’ own. Milan arrive in better form but a wounded animal is at its’ most dangerous. Any result is possible, I can’t call it, it’s a game that is open to anything.”
Panucci gave his opinion on the current Icardi saga at Inter: “He put himself in this difficult situation on his own, but I don;t know what was said between Spalletti and Icardi. I know Luciano but I don’t want to speculate. We don’t know what really happened. For certain though, Inter are the ones who are missing out.”
Finally he gave his thoughts on the gap between the Milanese clubs and Juventus: “Inter are investing and Milan are also working well, but right now there is a huge gap that would be difficult to close.”
