The wife and agent of former Inter captain Mauro Icardi, Wanda Nara, was a guest on Italian talk show Tiki Taka as is now traditional, every Sunday night.
She began by underlining how important it was to win against SPAL for Inter before moving on to the relevant issues regarding her husband.
“We saw the match at home, with our family. It is true, we want to avoid every form of controversy. Marotta knew that we would not be going, I speak with him more often than I do with Mauro. We had to win today and that is what happened. Three very important points for the team.”
“I don’t want to say anything that can be interpreted in a bad way. This next week is a very important week for the entire Inter world, but I can say that we have had a positive week, because we have spoken and arrived at something positive. I only want to do what is best for Mauro, he wants to stay at Inter.”
“I chose a lawyer that is an Inter fan, a person which could broker peace with the club. I have not asked for any rehabilitation of his public image. I do not deny it as news simply because it would make no sense to make a request for one denial every week.”
“I am an Inter fan and I am f’***ing pissed off over the things I read. It is clear that people are upset with us, but the day Mauro speaks and explains everything, things will change. Because for what Mauro has demonstrated on the pitch, with his tears and his duties, and as a player, he has given everything for the shirt.”
“The problem with his knee was not invented. He has decided to recover in this moment because he thinks it is the most important thing. He is recovering 24 hours a day. I don’t understand how degrading the most expensive player could benefit the club.”
“I hope that this media situation is resolved. Let me repeat, Mauro wants to stay and continue his career at Inter.”
