Inter Looks For An Heir While Icardi Looks For A New Home

According to the latest reports it’s unlikely we’ll see Mauro Icardi against either Eintracht Frankfurt and AC Milan this coming Sunday at the Derby della Madonnina.

The truce between the club and the player isn’t expected to come into affect until after the international break, but it’s clear that this would only be temporary anyway, as the club has been looking for his heir for some time now, leaving Icardi to start looking for a new home.

Rome based Corriere dello Sport believe: “despite the interest of multiple foreign clubs, the Icardi’s want to stay in Italy. Their plan was originally to spend their lives in Milan with Inter, but due to the circumstances the next best thing would be to just stay within the country, as they believe this is where their children will have the best possible future.”

This leaves two viable options, Juventus and Napoli. Napoli cannot be neglected, even when fighting against Juventus as the Southern club has the advantage of being less of a rival to Inter and they’re owner, who is a huge admirer of the Argentine bomber, would be willing to break the bank.

Meanwhile, Juventus, Inter’s most bitter rivals, are also looking to secure the long term future of their attack, as Ronaldo and Mandzukic age, and could offer Paulo Dybala to sweeten the deal. Currently, Inter would be more willing to accept the deal with Juventus, assuming Dybala would become a Nerazzurri.

But in this scenario, Inter, would still also buy a new striker, as Dybala is seen more as a playmaker just behind. Dzeko is the top of their list due to his expiring contract and Spalletti’s history with the Bosnian. Eintracht’s Jovic is also a possibility but negotiations can only start once the German club officially pay his redemption clause from Benfica.

Then there are names such as Lukaku and Benzema who are much larger financial risks but if they were offered in exchange for Icardi, plus a bit of cash, this would satisfy Inter.

Regardless of who is signed, Icardi is unfortunately looks on his way out, even more so now that he will not be available for the next two games. The two most important games of Inter’s season.
