Before any transfer targets are pursued, before any contract renewals are started, Inter continue their focus on finding a resolution with Mauro Icardi according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter chief executive Marotta and Icardi’s lawyer Paolo Nicoletti have met and walked away from the negotiating table twice within the last 15 days, with positive reactions from both sides.
The reasons for removing the captaincy were clarified and it was agreed that he would take it back when he returned. Then they started to get closer to a return. The solution to the case was all but agreed the day after Inter’s return from Frankfurt at the first meeting but then Luciano Spalletti’s comments to the press angered Icardi and his entourage forcing, Marotta to start from level 0 again.
Then again, his return was close at the beginning of the week of the Milan derby but then, blank. Now, we are here in the present for the third attempt. Perhaps the last one because if Icardi is not available against Lazio then when will he be? The conditions have been set. It is up to Icardi to reveal all to his teammates and coaching staff.
