Due to the ongoing problems between Inter and Mauro Icardi, the Nerazzurri have been forced to go on the hunt for a new striker to partner, teach or back up Lautaro Martinez, Corriere dello Sport detail.
One such player Inter could bring in is Roma’s Edin Dzeko. Inter are due to meet his agent Silvano Martina with regards to a contract extension for Daniele Padelli and Dzeko may also be brought up in the same meeting.
Dzeko is not the only player that Inter are keen on. RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is one but he looks destined to join Bayern Munich while Romelu Lukaku is unattainable unless Mauro Icardi is sold. Another option could be Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and a move for the Frenchman could be dependent on Icardi going the other way.
Another viable alternative could be Rodrigo of Valencia. The 28-year-old Spaniard had a very prolific season last year but could be more affordable now due to not being in such good form. Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic can also not be disregarded but signing him would be complicated.
