Giovanni Malago, the head of the Italian National Olympic Committee, has urged the two Milanese clubs and the Milan city council to make a decision when it comes to the future of San Siro.

“The Milan city council and the heads of Milan and Inter need to lock themselves in a room and make a decision soon about the stadium,” he told the gathered journalists outside a meeting between the IOC Comission.

“I cannot say much more than that as it is not in my competence nor my responsibility.”

Malago then went on to discuss the different options for the future of the stadium.

“There are three options: the first is to renovate it, the second is to build alongside the existing stadium and the third is to find a new stadium. I find the first hypothesis difficult to achieve but the important thing is that the three interested parties make a decision.”
