According to a report from Don Balon, Real Madrid are open to offering a player to Inter in exchange for troubled striker Mauro Icardi.
The Spanish giants are prepared to offer Inter one of their big name players but it will not be Luka Modric nor Toni Kroos, two players that the Nerazzurri have been strongly linked with recently.
Instead, they would be willing to send Karim Benzema to San Siro in a straight swap for the 26-year-old Argentine even though the Frenchman’s value is lower than that of Icardi’s.
The report goes on to state that due to the recent controversy, Inter would be willing to pass up on some cash just to get rid of the former Sampdoria forward.
It will ultimately come down to Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane as he will have to decide whether he wants to give up Benzema for Icardi, who could cause many problems down the line.
