In an interview with La Oral Deportiva, Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has reflected on his career with Inter, almost a year on from joining.

“I have had to adapt a lot since my move. I changed country, team and league. I have not played the same minutes I did at Racing, but I have always trained hard in order to get into the team. I’m currently recovering from injury but hope to get more minutes on my return and help the team out,” he began.

The Argentine then spoke on his relationship with Mauro Icardi.

From the first moment I arrived he called me and helped me with a lot of things. Me and him together on the field? The system we use most is a one striker formation but we have played together and felt good. I always work to give my best. The number on the shoulders serves to identify you and I know what it means to be Inter’s number 10.”

He then spoke on being part of the Argentine national team.

“I do everything at club level to ensure that I can be called up to Argentina. Every time they call me I am very happy. When I wear the shirt I feel something special. I want to be on the next squad list.”
