Alessandro Del Piero has discussed Inter position in the race for Champions League qualification with several teams all fighting to secure their place in next season’s edition.
“Inter are in an enviable position compared to the others in the race for the Champions League,” he said as he appeared as a guest on Sky Sport.
“While it is true that Inter has difficult games ahead of them, the others have challenges of this type to facing too and they also have some points to recover.
“It is not easy to tackle a points deficit at this time teams as there are teams that are fighting for safety or for a place in the Europa League.
Del Piero then spoke on the recent controversy between Inter striker Mauro Icardi and the club in the past few months.
“The Icardi case has been overcome and Inter did it by winning many games at the beginning and then fixing things up.”
