After having helped his Inter defeat Frosinone in the Serie A, Dutch international central defender, Stefan De Vrij, Spoke to to RAI Sport to share his thoughts on the win.
“A fundamentally important win, we knew it was important to win in order to keep the distance to the teams behind us. Now we have another important game ahead of us next week.”
After Frosinone’s goal Inter suffered a lot, how come this is always the case after you concede a goal?
“In my opinion, we could have closed the game earlier with a third goal, but we just couldn’t manage to do that. They came right back into the game after the goal, and we suffered a bit. But at the end we did good, they didn’t create that much.”
We could all see the hug between Icardi and Perisic, how important for the group was this?
“It is very important that we are united, we need everybody during this final stage of the season.”
Why did you try to conduct the game in this manner, trying to stay low?
“We lost our concentration during the second half, losing too many balls as opposed to how we played in the first half. It is normal that when you play like that you seem to lower the team a bit.”
