Gianfelice Facchetti, the son of Inter legend Giacinto Facchetti, has stated he would prefer to see Inter invest in players rather than spend money on coaching changes.
“Conte or Spalletti? I would invest in players rather than in a coach who earns a lot of money. It seems strange to send Spalletti away,” he admitted in an interview with RMC Sport.
“I would try to reinforce the team by bringing in players that guarantee growth. From here to the next month and a half we will better understand the strategies of the leadership.”
He then voiced his opinion on Mauro Icardi and whether he feels he should stay or go from the club in the Summer.
“In the meantime I would say that at least from here to the end of the season, I would leave him in peace. He made mistakes and he paid for them. Regardless of the controversy around Maurito, he remains a very strong player but it is clear that what happened has led to difficulties with the management. If they remain, some things should be clarified.”
He concluded by speaking on the performances of Radja Nainggolan and Ivan Perisic this term.
“It is certainly difficult to define the Belgian’s season as positive. He was the main signing and did not perform as expected. We did not see him score lots of goals from the midfield not a leap in quality. As for Perisic, he has not had a top season.”
