Inter Midfielder Nainggolan: “We Have Shown What We Can Do, I Hope To Have A Season Without Injuries Next Season”

Radja Nainggolan has shared his thoughts from Inter’s 1-1 draw in the Derby D’Italia against Juventus at San Siro.

The Belgian midfielder’s screamer opened the scoring for Inter early on but unfortunately the Nerazzurri could not hold on as Cristiano Ronaldo netted in the second half to secure a draw for the visiting Bianconeri.

“I think we played a great first half but went to sleep a bit after going 1-0 up. We could have scored on three or four occasions after it. In the second half they were the better team but there is certainly a bit of regret for not winning,” he said in an interview with Inter TV.

He was then asked why he thinks Inter always perform in the bigger matches.

“These games are more open and our qualities come out more. We have shown what we can do and we played an excellent game.”

He then spoke on the ongoing race for Champions League qualification which is being contested by a number of teams.

“There will be many direct confrontations between now and the end of the season but it all depends on us. We must not be afraid of the others because they are behind us.”

He concluded by looking ahead to next season.

“I hope to have a season without injuries and to be able to always give my best. This year I spent too much time on the sidelines and I hope that I don’t have any problems like this again.”
