Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi was subjected to racist abuse from a portion of the Inter crowd during last night’s Derby D’Italia draw at San Siro according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Frenchman fouled Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio and monkey chants began from Inter’s Curva Nord. Other fans in the stadium were quick to react and whistled in an attempt to drown the chants out.
It was an isolated incident during the match and lasted only a few seconds but it remains to be seen whether further punishment will be suffered.
