Former Inter striker Pablo Dani Osvaldo has admitted he has no regrets about his decision to retire early from football in order to pursue a career in his other love, music.

“For years football seemed the only way for me but then I realised that I had other interests,” he told Corriere della Sera.

“I said to myself: I must throw myself into music, a dream that I have always had. It was simple. It would have been more difficult for me to continue doing something I didn’t want to do anymore in football. I have never had regrets about my decision.

“When things happen there’s always a reason. As a footballer I felt like nothing more than just a number. It’s a bit of a frivolous and cold environment. If you play well you’re a god and if you play badly you are nothing.”

He was then asked what feels best, making music or when he was scoring goals.

“They are two beautiful things. When you score a goal you have created something special but it only lasts for a short while instead music is eternal.

He concluded by speaking on what his family made of his decision.

“My father occasionally comes to me and says that he misses seeing me on the pitch and it breaks my heart. My mother meanwhile tells me to just be happy.”
