Real Madrid have joined the highly competitive race to sign Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek according to a report from Marca.

Whilst their number one goal is to sign Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, Los Blancos have also identified the 22-year-old youngster as an alternative alongside Tottenham Hotspur play maker Christian Eriksen.

The report from the Spanish based newspaper reports that it could take any of the many interested clubs as much as €60 million to prize van de Beek away from the Amsterdam club.

Real Madrid aside, Paris Saint Germain, Inter, the aforementioned Tottenham Hotspur and many other clubs are keen on landing van de Beek who has starred for Ajax in their run to the Champions League semi-finals.

This season he has played in all barring one of Ajax’s 54 fixtures to date. In his 53 outings, the Dutch international has netted an impressive 16 goals and provided 11 assists for his teammates.
