Former Inter youngster Francesco Forte has spoken on how he has adapted to life in Belgium with Waasland-Beveren and his Nerazzurri past in an interview with FCInterNews.it.

“The first few months were hard because of the language barrier and the typical acclimatisation but after starting to play and scoring goals everything became easier,” he said.

“I wanted to try a different life experience and challenge myself. I have never wanted to make easy choices in my life, I feel that I do my best when I’m with my back to the wall.

He then spoke on his experience growing up at Inter.

“It was very important for me from both a human and a football point of view. I was lucky enough to win everything with the Primavera and debut in Serie A. I will always be tied to the Nerazzurri colours.

“Javier Zanetti helped me the most. No doubt. He was a true leader, on and off the field. I am sure that even as Vice President he makes his presence felt on and off the pitch.”

Forte then spoke on if he has any regrets about no longer being owned by Inter.

“Partially yes but it was right to cut that cord that still bound me to them. It was time to try to fly alone. Follow my own path but of course I will always be grateful to Inter.”
