Inter traveled to face a struggling Udinese team who are virtually safe from relegation with nothing to play for and as expected they parked the bus and Inter were unable to get past a resolute defensive set up once again.
When they did get past, the poor finishing let us down, when Inter applied a decent finish, Musso was on hand to save. Inter are now dangerously close to getting dragged into the battle for the Champions League places.
Samir Handanovic – 6: Didn’t have any major challenges to face tonight. His defence protected him very well and only let the easy shots through to him. Moved the ball well.
Danilo D’Ambrosio – 7: Inter’s most dangerous attacking player tonight. Got 3 crosses right and they were the team’s best chances tonight. Didn’t have to do much in defence.
Stefan de Vrij – 7: Classy play from kick off until the end. Seems so calm and collected even when he is outpaced or makes a poor pass. Modern central defender.
Milan Skriniar – 6: Not his finest game. Gave the ball away dangerously a couple of times and never managed to get to attacking set plays. Sort the contract out NOW.
Kwadwo Asamoah – 7.5: Fantastic in attack whenever he got the ball in space and rock solid in defence. Saved Inter countless times on counters or when the team made a poor pass.
Borja Valero – 5: Even though the midfield was crowded, he was not being pressed hard. Made a few avoidable tackles and never managed to control the game.
Marcelo Brozovic – 6.5: Plays in a different rhythm, tempo and level to his team mates. Blossoming as a complete central midfielder. Too bad his team-mates are so poor.
Matteo Politano – 5: Matteo has not raised his level at all. It’s as if he goes back after each game, hibernates and turns up. Doesn’t learn and looks like doesn’t improve.
Radja Nainggolan – 6: The only forward player who looked like scoring or doing something unexpected. Too bad he got tired and couldn’t be as effective towards the end.
Ivan Perisic – 5: What is the point of Perisic in such games? A couple of runs behind the defence but nothing when it comes to dangerous crosses. Should not start.
Lautaro Martinez- 5: This game was not where Lautaro could shine. He tried his best and maybe with a little bit of luck could have scored but 3 tough central defenders were too much.
Mauro Icardi – 5.5: Brought on for the last 30 mins or so. His physicality was needed and it improved Inter’s play but not by much due to other subs. Should have had a penalty.
Antonio Candreva – 5: When you are desperate for a goal and you see Antonio coming on you know its time to settle for a point. Like his career at Inter, tonight was wasteful.
Keita Balde – 5.5: Was given 10 minutes to make a difference after a long time of inactivity. That and had to play out of his best position because Ivan is untouchable.
Luciano Spalletti – 4: Surely could have made some subs earlier.Surely should have tried a different formation to unsettle Udinese. Did he even train these guys this past week?
Gianluca Rocchi – 3: Missed penalties on both teams.Luckily for Inter even the booking on D’Ambrosio could have been worse. Didn’t even bother checking the VAR for the foul on Icardi. As expected.
Inter – 4: All those videos from training showing the world of them working together must be from the archives. It doesn’t look like Inter trained or prepared for this crucial game at all.
Agree? Disagree? Who do you think was Inter’s best player of the night?
