Former Inter player Antonio Cassano was a guest as per usual on Sunday night on the TV show TikiTaka on Mediaset, where he gave his thoughts on all things Inter and football in general.
The former Nerazzurri attacker thinks that Inter’s Argentinian attacking duo Mauro Icardi and Lautaro Martinez should be able to play together but only if certain conditions are met.
“If it were up to me, I would play all good players together, but Spalletti has always said that Lautaro and Icardi cannot coexist together. In my opinion they should be put on the pitch at the same time, but with Spalletti’s style of play he sees only one striker.”
“If you always have the ball, you can even play with three attackers, but if Inter don’t have players who can retain possession it makes no sense to play with many attackers.”
In conclusion Cassano was asked who he prefers out of Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo replying in his own unique way: “The real fortune of modern football is to have been able to see Barcelona’s number 10 play.”
