Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport analyses the state of Inter’s attack after failing to score this past weekend against Udinese in the Serie A.
While the Nerazzurri kept their sixteenth cleansheet in 35 games, they failed to score, which in light of yesterdays results between Roma and Genoa, would have greatly helped them solidify their third spot in the Serie A on their way to qualifying for the Champions League.
“In the first sixteen games of the second round of the season, Inter have taken 24 points, with 21 goals and 14 conceded. In comparison to the first sixteen games of the first round, in which they took 32 points, scoring 28 goals and conceding 13.”
“If we look at the individuals, Lautaro has not scored since March 17th , against AC Milan. Mauro Icardi has not scored for 5 games in a row, Politano is on a 8 game run without a goal and Keita has not scored since December 29th in Inter’s trip away to Empoli, which is now only 2 more games away again.”
The only one with positive stats is Perisic who has scored 3 goals in the last 6 games, but overall this is simply not enough.
